UFC Rankings Update: Jon Jones Retakes Pound-For-Pound Throne

In the aftermath of an epic UFC 195 event which went down last Saturday (January 2, 2016), the UFC rankings have seen quite a few changes.

Despite a breath taking five-round war between Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit taking place in the main event of this past weekend’s event from Las Vegas, the most notable changes in the rankings actually regarded fighters who didn’t even compete.

Former light heavyweight champion and former pound-for-pound king Jon “Bones” Jones reclaimed his spot amongst the P4P list, dethroning flyweight champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson.

While Jones is undoubtedly the best in the world, he hasn’t competed since last January after being arrested and suspended last April. Although he will be returning soon, it’s quite confusing to see the change take place now.

Heavyweight boss Fabricio Werdum also dropped two spots despite having not fought since last June, and Lawler moved up one spot after his split-decision victory over Condit.

Take a look at the full updated rankings below courtesy of UFC.com:
