Betting Odds

Tasked with headlining this blockbuster UFC 300 card in April, undisputed light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira has opened as a significant betting favorite to do so successfully in his high-profile headliner against Jamahal Hill – as the pair currently take main event honors on the massive pay-per-view card.

Pereira, a former undisputed middleweight champion and newly-minted light heavyweight titleholder, has been sidelined since last November, most recently headlining UFC 295 in New York City.

And minting himself as a two-weight champion just two years into his Octagon tenure, Sao Paulo knockout artist, Pereira did so with a blistering second round win over former titleholder, Jiri Prochazka at Madison Square Garden in the pair’s vacant title fight.

Drawing ex-champion, Hill at UFC 300 in April – Brazilian favorite, Pereira has opened as a decent betting favorite at odds of -162 – compared to Hill, who is currently sitting as a betting underdog as high as +136.

And with fans hoping to land significant action on this blockbuster UFC 300 card in April – Payday Depot are offering up loans up to $500 if fans and punters alike spot some notable money in the market in what comes as one of the most high-profile cards of the year in Las Vegas – likely to draw some of the biggest action this annum.

Himself sidelined since last January, Dana White’s Contender Series alum, Hill became the first product of the series to land Octagon spoils, turning in an impressive decision win over Pereira’s close friend and teammate, Glover Teixeira on hostile territory in Brazil.

And long-expected to take on Pereira in his first attempted title defense, Hill was forced from his return last year after rupturing his achilles during a pick-up basketball game with fellow fighters during International Fight Week last summer.

Sharing a stark precision prediction for his showdown with Pereira at UFC 300, Hill claimed he has the ability to stop the Sao Paulo finisher with a knockout win of his own inside the Octagon – despite the hasty nature of his booking on the card.

“I found out for sure, for sure that it was locked in since I’ve been in here,” Jamahal Hill said UFC 298. “When I got to the venue, we talked about it, and I agreed to it yesterday [Friday].”

“Look, ‘Sweet Dreams’ is not gonna lie to the people, I ain’t lie to you guys,” Jamahal Hill explained. “I told you what I knew – partially. …Everybody wants to be on [UFC] 300, but realistically, it didn’t really come on my radar, it didn’t really happen until yesterday, I’m not evern going to lie, yesterday.”

First striking Octagon gold back in 2022, Pereira, who was announced as an inductee to the GLORY Kickboxing Hall of Fame late last year, turned in a spectacular rallying win over arch-rival, Israel Adesanya at MSG to boot – stopping the City Kickboxing staple in the fifth and final round with a TKO stoppage at the Octagon fence.
