Jake Paul Convinced He’ll Meet Conor McGregor in the Octagon

Jake Paul offers to fight Conor McGregor in boxing match I'm a better boxer

Love him or hate him, and let’s be honest, there are a fair amount of people in either camp, it appears that Jake Paul can’t keep himself out of the news for that long, and now his apparent attempts to fight Conor McGregor seem to be gaining some traction.

Jake Paul is set to fight former UFC stalwart Nate Davis in the boxing ring but spent much of a press conference dedicated to that bout discussing the possibility of facing McGregor, a clash that would be sure to attract a vast amount of attention, not to mention Pay Per View action.

If that fight took place in the Octagon, one can only imagine the level of interest it would create among the best MMA betting sites, and one former world champion actually feels it’s a fight that Paul could actually win.

Two-weight world champion Paulie Malignaggi discussed possible ways Jake Paul could get under McGregor’s skin, stating;

“Jake has a high school wrestler background so he would not be totally out of his element in the cage. He’d need to be alert to his kicks, but McGregor had absolutely no balls,”

“If you make him just a little bit uncomfortable, you are going to put yourself in a position where you might win the fight.”

“He looks for the first window to jump out of. He’s got athletic ability but his anxiety levels get high. That’s why he gets so tired in fights,” Malignaggi added.

In typically modest fashion Jake Paul has already revealed just how such a fight would appear on the horizon;

“I want Conor next after that. It’s inevitable. I see a roadmap where I knock out Nate and go to Conor McGregor. Do what Conor couldn’t do, knock out Nate, then that would be the biggest fight in combat sports that could possibly be made, me vs Conor.”

McGregor is currently involved with the UFC reality show The Ultimate Fighter but is not enjoying a great deal of success. He’s without a win in six episodes, with the latest fight seeing Lee Hammond choked out, meaning Michael Chandler needs just two wins to complete a clean sweep.

During the show, McGregor had begged UFC supremo Dana White to change the rules;

“Give them three rounds, lads,”

“We want three rounds here, judges yeah? F— this two-round s—. It’s five rounds for a world title. You ever had one of those world titles, Michael? You ever had a five-rounder?”

McGregor is seemingly set to get back into the UFC, with a fight against Chandler on the cards, albeit with issues relating to USADA’s drug testing regulations.

Conor is yet to re-enroll with the USADA and has missed the deadline to do so ahead of a fight that is penciled in for December 16th. Is an exception of some form on the cards?

McGregor’s last fight came in July 2021 when he lost to Dustin Poirier in Las Vegas, having also suffered a TKO against the same fighter six months earlier in Abu Dhabi.
