DNA samples matching Conor McGregor found on plaintiff's body as UFC star takes the stand

The High Court has been told today how DNA profiles matching that of Conor McGregor were found on the underwear, clothes and body of plaintiff, Nikita Hand — with the woman accusing the Irish mixed martial arts fighter and James Lawrence of Rafter’s Road, Drimnagh of rape during an alleged incident in December 2018.

Appearing for the latest proceedings today at the High Court in Dublin, McGregor, who has denied he raped Hand during an alleged incident at the Beacon Hotel in December 2018, took the stand in the afternoon for questioning.

However, according to forensic scientist, Dr. Charlotte Murphy, the issue of whether or not the alleged sexual intercourse between McGregor and the plaintiff, Hand was consensual was outside her remit as a scientist. (via RTE)

The High Court was told how DNA samples matching the profile of Conor McGregor were found in the analysis of semen stains found on both the underwear and black playsuit clothing worn by 35-year-old Hand on the night of the alleged incident, with Dr Murphy saying both straps were ripped on the playsuit in question worn by Hand.

While the court heard how Hand also handed her notice into her then-place of employment at a hair salon in Goatstown in which she worked as a colorist, they also heard whether the plaintiff had suffered a loss of earnings as a result of the alleged assault.

Actuary. Peter Byrne also gave evidence today in the High Court detailing that if Hand’s earnings had increased to a sum of $845 per week, with a further $105 in tips, by the time she had turned 66 years of age, and basing her loss of earnings if she were never to work again, they would amount to $1,017,876.

Himself taking the stand to provide evidence upon questioning from his own SC (senior counsel), Remy Farrell, McGregor claimed “Nikita and I are from the same area. I didn’t know her personally, knew of her, seen (sic) her around and moved in the same circles. Nikita used to follow me on Instagram and send me messages.”

Claiming on the night of the alleged incident how he attended District 8 and then Krystle nightclub in the capital, Conor McGregor alleged “Ms. Hand responded privately [to his Instagram Stories post], sent me a picture of herself in a red jumpsuit in the evening, slightly provocative and asked me where I was and told me where she was and began talking then. It was a nice picture, I liked it.”

McGregor then alleged while taking the stand how whilst attending Krystle nightclub, Hand had continued to message him, including sending a private message stating: “It’s [a] Christmas party, come out to us, come out and get us.”

Claiming that sexual intercourse between himself and Hand was consensual, Conor McGregor described the encounter as “athletic, physical and it was prolonged and it was in a multitude of positions.”

Denying causing bruises to the body of Hand, Conor McGregor also denied the plaintiff was utilizing a tampon during the alleged encounter — which required the use of a forceps to remove at the Sexual Assault Treatment Unit at the Rotunda Hospital, claiming “there was none [tampon], if there was and she was son her (menstrual) cycle I would not have had sex with Nikita Hand.”
