Watch: Alex Pereira Makes Acting Debut in A24’s New “Onslaught” Trailer
Alex Pereira has traded the UFC cage for an action-horror set in the new trailer for A24’s “Onslaught.” The former UFC light heavyweight champion appears in the Adam Wingard film alongside Adria Arjona, Dan Stevens, Rebecca Hall and Drew Starkey, ahead of its September 4 theatrical release.

The two-minute trailer introduces a dangerous team described as “perfect soldiers,” with each member carrying a disturbing reputation. One is said to have kept fighting after being shot 48 times, while another is identified as “The Butcher” – a fitting nickname for Pereira’s screen debut, given his long history of highlight-reel knockouts.
“Onslaught” centers on a sniper, played by Arjona, who is pulled into a violent fight against a group of seemingly unstoppable attackers. The trailer presents them as a military unit with enhanced senses and one direct instruction: once they start killing, they do not stop.

Pereira is featured among the operatives, bringing a familiar physical presence to the footage. It is a different setting from Madison Square Garden or the UFC Apex, but the Brazilian’s calm stare and imposing frame fit the film’s threat level. Fans may recognize his signature look immediately, although A24 is keeping the specifics of his character under wraps.

Wingard directs after working on films including “You’re Next,” “The Guest,” “Godzilla vs. Kong” and “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.” His new project appears to blend close-quarters combat, gunfights, creature-style horror and military action, with a small family caught in the middle of the attack.

The trailer also gives Arjona the central action role, including a moment where her character tells her child to hide while she goes to retrieve her guns. Dan Stevens, who previously teamed with Wingard on “The Guest,” appears as a key figure connected to the squad. Recent coverage has described “Onslaught” as returning to the world of “The Guest,” though the trailer stands on its own as a high-intensity survival story.
Alongside Pereira, the cast includes Hall, Starkey, Reginald VelJohnson, Michael Biehn and Eric Wareheim. A24 released the second official trailer on July 27, with the studio confirming Wingard as director and listing Pereira among the featured cast.
