Ex-UFC star Zabit Magomedsharipov in line for stunning comeback according to team
According to the Russian’s team, former UFC featherweight contender, Zabit Magomedsharipov may be in line for a spectacular return to combat sports as soon as this year — amid long-speculation over the former top contender’s future.
Magomedsharipov, a former top-5 ranked featherweight during his impressive, albeit short stint in the Octagon, departed combat sports amid health issues back in 2021, which would require potential career-threatening surgery to address an immune issue.

And last competing in 2019, Magomedsharipov moved to 6-0 in the Octagon with a three round main event victory over Calvin Kattar in his native Russia.
However, informing the UFC of his intention to retire from combat sports the same year as his withdrawal from the rankings due to inactivity, Magomedsharipov has been continually linked with a comeback.

These rumors were further fueled by claims from Zabit Magomedsharipov’s younger brother, Khasan how his sibling — who is now one of his head coaches, was interested in a potential return to combat sports in the form of grappling and wrestling competitions.

However, on social media this week, Magomedsharipov’s potential return to combat sports built up another head of steam, with his teammate, Muskhab Kudiev sharing footage of Zabit Magomedsharipov shadow boxing in a ring, with the caption, “He will be back soon.”
A former ACB featherweight champion, Russian star, Magomedsharipov was widely considered a shoo-in for a potential title fight before his retirement from combat sports with the UFC.

However, during his brief stint, the lengthy Russian had turned in notable victories over the likes of the above-mentioned, Kattar, as well as Jeremy Stephens, Brandon Davis, and Kyle Bochniak.
