During the UFC Freedom 250 pre-fight press conference, Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje engaged in a verbal battle, and Sean O’Malley, meanwhile, interrupted with a one-liner to steal the show.

Current and two-time interim lightweight champion Gaethje will lock horns with undisputed 155-pound titleholder Topuria in the main event of UFC Freedom 250 this weekend. Meanwhile, that same night, “Suga” will take on the Canadian Aiemann Zahabi.

During the presser earlier today at Lincoln Memorial, Gaethje opined that his coach, Trevor Wittman, has devised a perfect plan to dethrone Topuria. After hearing this statement, “El Matador” quipped:

You’re gonna be alone in that octagon with me. You’re not even the world champion, what makes [your coach] the best?”

Next up, Gaethje started schooling Topuria, adding:

“His success as a coach. His accomplishments as a coach.”

But the Georgian-Spaniard did want to admit that Trevor Wittman is the best MMA coach. He came up with a logical explanation about why his coach, Javi Clement, is “the best.”

“So that makes my coach [Javi Clement] the best because I won the world title in featherweight, then I moved up to lightweight and won the title.”

On top of that, Sean O’Malley added that his coach, Tim Welch, is the best:

“No, my coach is the best!”

Afterwards, explaining why he decided to push “The Highlight,” the 29-year-old said:

“I told him don’t come closer and he told me ‘What, are you gonna punch me?’ And I was like, yeah. He came closer. So I just had to push him. If I punched him, he’s not gonna be able to show up.”
