Rousey and “Cyborg” To Coach TUF Brazil? No Chance

Dominant women’s bantamweight champion “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey is set to defend her title this summer in Brazil at UFC 190 against Bethe Correia, but there is and always has been another Brazilian that fans want the “Rowdy” one to square off with. That would be non-other than Invicta FC 145-pound queen Cris “Cyborg” Justino, who many consider the only woman on the planet capable of actually challenging Rousey.

The rumors have swirled for years of if and when the two would actually fight, and now with Justino under contract with Zuffa, the idea may not be as far-fetched. Apparently, there has been a new rumor swirling around recently, saying that Rousey and “Cyborg” would be coaching against each other on ‘The Ultimate Fighter (TUF)Brazil’.

Rousey has been a coach on TUF once before, coaching against arch-rival Miesha Tate on season 18. Appearing on today’s (May 11, 2015) edition of the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, the bantamweight queen completely shot down the idea, expressing her hate for the show, saying she wants absolutely nothing to do with TUF:

“I’m never doing Ultimate Fighter ever again,” Rousey said. “Everyone in the UFC, in the Ultimate Fighter, everyone on earth knows I’ll never do that show ever again for all the money in the world.”

She even went to extreme measures, saying one would have to hold her little sister at gunpoint for her to coach on the reality show:

“You’d have to hold my little sister at gunpoint to get me to do that show again,” she said.

Apparently Rousey is not a fan of The Ultimate Fighter. However, that doesn’t mean she won’t eventually meet Justino in the cage. The biggest problem all these years has been the weight difference, and there have been reports stating that “Cyborg” is attempting to cut down to 135-pounds and when she does, she will make the jump to the UFC and challenge the “Rowdy” one.

Continuing on with Helwani, Rousey noted the lengthy buildup to boxing’s mega-fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, leaving hope that her and “Cyborg” will one day eventually fight:

“I mean, Pacquiao-Mayweather had about a five-year buildup,” said Rousey. “We’re about at three, so I’d say I would keep my hopes up til five, then after that, I’m moving on with my life.”

Will this super fight ever come to fruition?
