Already set to be headlined by Anthony Pettis vs. TJ Grant for the UFC Lightweight title, UFC on Fox 9 is starting to shape up as another awesome card. Urijah Faber and Michael McDonald will now serve as the co main event for the evening, confirmed by the UFC official Twitter page:

Urijah Faber was most recently in action against Yuri Alcantara, winning a dominant decision at UFC FN: Shogun vs. Sonnen, the same night that acDonald beat Brad Pickett via triangle choke in their FOTN scrap.
McDonald is 15-2, his only unavenged loss coming to Renan Barao, and a fight against Faber is certainly an exciting prospect. Faber is 29-6 overall, a former KOTC and WEC champion and is a hard fight for anyone in the lower weight classes.
The event, set to go down on December 14th in Sacramento, California, is also rumoured to have a Heavyweight bout between Stipe Miocic and Travis Browne in the works. Revealed on Wednesday’s ‘UFC tonight’, the bout would pit the #7 ranked Browne against the #11 ranked Miocic.
Browne was also recently in action at UFC fight night: Shogun vs. Sonnen, knocking the snot out of Alistair Overeem after suffering a hellacious beating in the early goings. Miocic was last seen beating the filling out of the Pillsbury dough boy Roy Nelson at UFC 161. Nelson was, at the time, considered to be a tough fight for anyone. The end result was slightly different, as Miocic dominated Nelson for the duration of their bout.
Both guys have outstanding records; Browne is 15-1-1, Miocic 10-1 and would certainly be looking at a contender fight with an impressive victory at UFC on Fox 9. 2013 has had some absolutely stacked cards, can the UFC keep the ball rolling in to 2014?
