Conor McGregor Blasts WWE ‘Dweebs,’ ‘Fat’ John Cena

McGregor and Cena

Reigning UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor made headlines last week when he took a shot at the professional wrestling world, saying that he’d ‘slap the head off’ of the entire WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) roster. Unsurprisingly, McGregor received quite a bit of heat from both pro wrestlers as well as wrestling fans in the aftermath of his comments, but the Irishman hasn’t stopped with his verbal assault.

Speaking at a media day yesterday (August 12, 2016) McGregor blasted the WWE roster once again, calling them ‘dweebs’, as well as calling John Cena, one of the sport’s biggest stars, a ‘fat mother**ker’:

“The new age are dweebs,” said McGregor regarding the current WWE talent. “Let’s be honest here. They are absolute dweebs.”

“The main guy, John Cena, he’s 40 years of age and he’s running around in a luminous orange t-shirt and a head band, talking about nobody can see him. We can see him right there. He’s a big fat, 40-year-old failed Mr. Olympia motherf**ker.”

One of the most notable responses McGregor received was from legendary former wrestling champion Ric Flair, who accused McGregor of stealing his gimmick. The “Notorious” one said plain and simple that what he does is the ‘real s*it’, and that he’d happily fight a professional wrestler:

“I don’t know what to say to Ric Flair,” added McGregor. “This ain’t no gimmick. This is the real sh*t. I gotta get in and fight a man for real with no script, with no nothing. So he was talking about bringing some of the wrestler guys over to challenge me, come bring it then. This is the real sh*t over here. If you want to come over we can fight no problem.”

“And then a few of them were talking about the street and all. If you want to come do that, come at me and see what happens.”

McGregor is set to return to action in just a few weeks in a highly-anticipated rematch with Nate Diaz in the main event of August 20’s UFC 202.
