UFC 173 Medical Suspensions: Jake Ellenberger Faces Six Month Sit With Broken Orbital

UFC 173 is well in the rear view mirror, although it’s ramifications are still being felt. A new bantamweight champion was born, Robbie Lawler gave Jake Ellenberger a lashing, and Dan Henderson got rag dolled by Daniel Cormier. As well as the divisional implications, there are a number of medical complications that arose after the fact.

The official UFC 173 medical suspensions list has been released, and it appears that Jake Ellenberger got the worst of the night, suffering a broken eye socket against ‘Ruthless’. The third round TKO loss marked the second L on the bounce for ‘The Juggernaut’, and it may be up to six months before he is fit to resume fighting.
