Compustrike: UFC 130 by the numbersPosted on May 29, 2011, 06:45 PM by Ryan Ventura
UFC 130 may have had main event booking problems, but it didn't stop the card from having non-stop action from bottom to top. Many fans were expecting to see Frankie Edgar defend his Lightweight strap against Gray Maynard, but instead we were treated to a headlining bout between Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Matt "The Hammer" Hamill. Rampage looking to get back to the Light-Heavyweight title picture and Matt Hamill trying to boost in stock in a very stacked division. Our good friends at Compustrike kept track of every moment of the fight. Take a look at the numbers and drop your two cents in the comment box.
From first round to the last Rampage outstruck Matt Hamill. Jackson landed 70/130 (54%) of his strikes compared to Hamill's 43/95 (45%). Out of the 70 strikes that Rampage managed to land 20 of them were kicks. Matt Hamill attempted 16 takedowns and none of them were successful. Zero seconds were spent on the ground the whole fight.
