MMA Kings head coach, Rafael Cordeiro has issued a warning for Nate Diaz (21-13 MMA) ahead of his professional boxing debut against social media sensation, Jake Paul

UFC cult hero, Nate Diaz seemingly has the odds stacked against him in what is his first professional boxing matchup on Aug. 5th against ‘The Problem Child’.

Although Diaz’s opponent isn’t taken too seriously within the combat sports world, Paul has been on track of proving people wrong, whilst also becoming the big money fight for UFC veterans.

Jake Paul has racked up some impressive victories over MMA legends such as: Anderson Silva (34-11 MMA) and Tyron Woodley (19-7-1 MMA), coincidently at the time these were fights that fans and fighters didn’t think Paul would find any success in.

Since turning a professional boxer, the 26-year-old has amassed an impressive record of 6-1. His only defeat was his most recent outing against Tommy Fury where he lost via a split decision on Feb. 26th

While Paul’s critics believe he would struggle against other pro boxers and people that aren’t twice his age, he has shown his consistent improvement and ultimately his commitment to the sport of boxing.

At the age of 38-years-old and a boxing debutant, Nate Diaz seemingly fits the bill of the perfect opponent for Jake Paul. Diaz is going against the younger and more experienced boxer, if that wasn’t enough the pair will be fighting at 185lbs. This is new territory for Diaz who only fought at lightweight and welterweight in MMA.

For most of the boxing and MMA community they feel that it will be a tough night at the office for Diaz with little upside. Rafael Cordeiro recently discussed his thoughts on Diaz’s chances and gave some advice ahead of his fight against Paul.

Rafael Corderio warns Nate Diaz ahead of boxing bout with Jake Paul

In a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Cordeiro expressed how he felt about Paul Vs. Diaz. The MMA Kings head coach, believes the fight will be more competitive than people think, however, shared that Diaz needs to change up some of his old training routines for his boxing debut.

“…It’s totally different training. You are going to see a lot of MMA fighters fight boxing, but we have to educate ourselves to boxing. It’s totally different sport. It’s totally different way that you spend your energy. You can’t fight boxing the way you fight MMA. You are going to get tired in less than two minutes. It’s going to be impossible to do that. The guys boxing just do this from morning to night, three or four times a day, just pure boxing,” said Rafael Cordeiro.

Cordeiro continued, “…It’s going to be a tough fight for Diaz, as all those fights are. All those fights are tough. As it’s going to be a tough fight for Jake, but I believe Jake has a bit more time inside the boxing. He developed more skills because he just worked on the boxing world, which means he breathes boxing and make a lot of difference. Diaz, I don’t believe it will be a good fight for him after all those years of competing MMA.”

Most bettors will be favouring the betting favourite Jake Paul heading into the pair’s showdown. Regardless of the odds, Nate Diaz is a snazzy veteran who is great at biding his time and finding a way to win, can he get it done against Paul in the squared circle that remains to be the question.

Is Rafael Cordeiro, right? Does Nate Diaz have to prepare differently for Jake Paul?
