David Zawada Edges Daniel Ligocki in Bloody Brawl - Oktagon 82 Highlights

David Zawada snapped a three-fight losing skid, earning a big win over Daniel Ligocki in a back-and-forth war at Oktagon 82.

Zawada and Ligocki let their fists fly for the first 100 seconds. Before long, Zawada looked to change levels, fishing for a takedown against the fence. Ligocki defended the attempt, nearly cinching in a guillotine choke.

After fighting his way out of the submission attempt, Zawada lit up Ligocki, busting up the Czech’s nose. Of course, that didn’t stop Ligocki from firing back, landing some nasty knees and appearing to break Zawada’s nose with a combination.

Late in the first, Ligocki went for a spinning back fist and ate a booming right hand from Zawada. The blow sent Ligocki to the mat, allowing Zawada to gain top control and rain down shots through the bell.

Ligocki put up another solid round in the second, getting Zawada to the mat and nearly locking in another submission attempt. With the fight potentially tied, we headed to the third round, where both fighters would look for the knockout blow.

Zawada landed big early with a right hand, but Ligocki fired back, rocking Zawada with a knee up the middle.

As we approached two minutes to go in the fight, Zawada connected with a left that appeared to bother Ligocki’s right eye. Ligocki continued to lean on his jab as Zawada was the much more active fighter throughout the stanza, securing him a well-deserved decision victory.
