Cris Cyborg trolls fight fans with an April Fools announcement on Monday. The former UFC women’s featherweight champion got the internet talking yet again with one of her notorious April Fool’s jokes.

This time it was a fake announcement about how she would be fighting Germaine De Randamie at the upcoming UFC 237 pay-per-view event. The thing that many fans missed was the fact that this contest was going to be set in a historic electrified fence.

Obviously, this plays on history with the fellow UFC star and there’s no way that a fight would be held inside of an electrified fence. You can read the news article posted on her personal website, criscyborg.com, here:

“Cyborg, who has been in Africa training in the Jungle in anticipation for this fight, is excited to be taking part in the first “electric fence” super fight,” the story reads. “As part of this bout the UFC will be testing new technology which prevents fighters from putting their fingers through the cage fence by supplying an electrical shock to the fingertips each time they are extended into the holes of the fence, the shock is sent through the glove by a cage side member of the athletic commission.  While the technology is not new, this will be the first fight the UFC has ever used the technology in an actual fight.”

Back in 2017, Cyborg vacated her Invicta featherweight title to make the full jump to the UFC. This was when she called out Germaine de Randamie for the title at UFC 214.

However, the fight never happened as de Randamie refused to fight. The reason for that is due to her willingness to get stripped of the belt for not fighting Cyborg, which happened.
