UFC on Fox 4 Post-Fight Interviews: Fighters weigh in on epic main card
Posted on August 5, 2012, 01:50 PM by Mike DrahotaIn a series of post-fight interviews from FuelTV.com, UFC on Fox 4's main fighters weigh in on the epic night of fights from Los Angeles. The man who will face either Jon Jones or Dan Henderson in his next fight describes his emphatic knockout of Ryan Bader. Lyoto Machida said he waited for Ryan Bader to come in with the right hand, and knew he was out, evident by how he stopped fighting. Machida appears super motivated to regain his title.
Shogun Rua spoke of his brutal win against a surprisingly tough Brandon Vera in a knockdown brawl. Shogun focused on training harder to come into his next bout with more endurance. Rua stated he always looks for the knockout no matter what. Shogun said he was not upset with Machida getting the title shot.
Brandon Vera came to his interview very emotional, which was understandable. He took the loss hard, but he should take pride that he participated in one of the most exciting fights in a long time. It was also one that came at the perfect time for the UFC. Vera expresses his belief that his career is not over by a longshot.
Finally, Lightweight Joe Lauzon spoke of his war with Jamie Varner, another back-and-forth brawl that featured alot of skill from both fighters. Lauzon said his gameplan to continually push the pace, while Varner had broken his hand while attempting to throw a punch. Joe Lauzon was humble in victory while talking his very effective fight-ending Triangle choke in the third round.

Good For Lauzon he did a good job of covering up and taking advantage of his oppourtunites. Wud love to see Varner Compete with a full training camp he has earned his spot in the UFC now
Shogun really needs to work on his cardio if he wants to make another title run.
Lauzon's ground game is sick! Vera and Shogun perform very similar in that they do well moving forward and not so much moving backwards but a good fight for both. Swick came out and brawled like he never took any time away. And Machida performed like the surgeon he is, great night of fights!
Hoped all week that Vera would bring it, rooted for him during the fight and enjoyed seeing him live up to his potential.
Then he opened his mouth at the press conference..
yeah i agree with you. Vera sound like a whining bitch. lay off shogun man i was pushing the pace. get off my lover. geeze.
I enjoyed the Shogun Vera fight but man! He needs to work his cardio, or his pace, or something, Shogun gases pretty quick. The Machida fight was a given, Bader rushed in like a rookie. The Lauzon and Swick fights were leg twitchers for sure.
