Hector Lombard will face Brian Stann in his debut at UFC on Fox 4

Lombard will face Brian Stann in a battle of two fast-paced and aggressive strikers. Tentatively scheduled for the August event of UFC on Fox 4, the bout should gauge how ready Lombard is for top-level UFC competition. Dana White answered a question about the fight with a confirmation via Twitter.com:

The former Bellator Middleweight champion has run through recent competition and has amassed an impressive 31-2-1 MMA record. His supporters would tell you that he is a fighter that has looked unstoppable as of late, knocking out everyone in his path. Some believe he may be the only Middleweight capable of actually challenging current king Anderson Silva. On the other hand, his detractors believe that while Lombard’s record may look flashy, he has spent too much of his career crushing mid-level competition. The question of how he may fare against the UFC's highly-skilled roster will be answered soon. No matter what you believe, Lombard is a powerhouse that fans will begin following immediately after his debut.
Brian Stann is an excellent test for Lombard's first go-around in the UFC. He has won four of five and is looking for his own Middleweight title shot. Both love to stand and bang, and both have knockout power. This fight could result in what we had hoped Stann vs. Alessio Sakara to be, a stand-up war. The power and pace of these two combatants will make for a very unpredictable and closely-contested match. Will Hector Lombard make a statement in his debut, or will he succumb to the “All-American?” Will the former Bellator king make his way to a title bout with Anderson Silva?

This is 1 helluva fight, Gonna test both fighters, I want both fighters to win this, but if i have to choose one, Hector got this!
Hector Lombard has never faced a good striker honestly. No disrespect intended. Hector's awesome and this will be a barn burner.
stann has good striking but hector has an olympic judo backround to fall back on if he is being outstruck. i dont see lombard losing this one with his power and grappling
As hard as Stann hits, he may not have time to decide that he's being outstruck and needs to take the fight to the ground. In fact, Lombard could outstrike Stann and still get KO'd.
I know Lombard has never been KO'd, but he also has not faced anyone with Stann's power. If Stann hits someone's chin cleanly, they're taking a nap. I don't care who they are.
This is the fight I want to see !
amazing match-up
i was hoping for hector vs pallhares but this is more of a step up in competition for hector. I suppose if he wins, he either fight for the title or fight bisping if bisping should win. But if he loses, I can have my dream grappling match up in hector vs pallhares...no matter what, there is a long and good future for hector in the ufc, but as military vet. I'm going for silver star to come out victorious....WAR STANN WARRR.....YAAAAACCCCTTTHHH!!!!!
And it seemed like they were building Stann up, I dont like his chances of going toe to toe with Lombard

I do, he has a lot of power and is improving everywhere. Plus a great chin I wouldn't be shocked if Stann won.

I like both of these guys a lot! Stann is an awesome human being and I want to see Hector be successful in the Ufc. I don't like this match up.

Stann is an awesome person, great human being, but he doesn't have the skills to beat anyone in the top 5 of his division. Everybody knows today that in MMA, no ground game equal no chances of ever being considered a top fighter. It might be one of his last fights in the UFC. Lombard's going to throw him around...
I'm excited to see Lombard finally against top competition. I hope he does well and challenges for the belt after a couple fights/wins.

No chance of any grappling here. I'll be shocked if this fight last five minutes.
not so sure about that....Lombard has some of the best judo in mma...his wrestling is slick...he would have watched how sonnen dismantled Stanns game and will probably do the same but ground n pound him. But yeh I don't think this fight will last 5 minutes someone is getting KO'ed

I think Stann will take this one. I feel Stann will have a mental edge and Lombard will cave under Stanns pressure.Lombard is an animal until somebody as tenacious and powerful as himself steps up.
This fight I belive is Hector's fight. He has all the tools against "All American". Effective striking, Olympic Judo, and vicious power. Brian possess everything that Hector has but not the grapling skills. So I hope to see fireworks,but the reality might be 3 round of dominating grappling from Hector.
