Dana White: Dan Henderson is next in line for 205 title shot

According to the UFC President Dana White, he has offered Dan Henderson two fights since he defeated Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 139, which took place at San Jose’s HP Pavilion. White has stated that Henderson has turned down both of those fights.

For his part Henderson has made it clear that he is only interested in a title shot, at either middleweight or light heavyweight.

Earlier this week, White announced that he would capitulate to Henderson’s desires, but made it clear that Henderson was the exception and not the rule, "Yes, Dan Henderson will get the winner of that fight (Jones vs. Evans) or the winner of the Anderson Silva fight. Dan Henderson just wants a title shot. You know, there was a lot of talk about the stuff I said. Here is the thing. I offered Dan Henderson two fights. Dan Henderson wants this fight. Normally I don't do that. Guys don't sit around and wait and pick their fights. There's been very specific cases where that has happened and it's guys who have earned it or deserved it. Dan Henderson is one of those guys. Listen, Henderson has been around forever. He is forty-something years old. He has been knocking guys out left and right and if he wants to sit around and wait for this title shot, he can do it." – for more see Heavy.com

But the great thing with a Silva fight , is that Silva likes to dance around and humiliate his opponents to show how superior he is. And I want to see him do that to Hendo cause he deserves it . Hendo is too ****y (and he also got lucky against Fedor) fcuk Dan

    "Hendo is too ****y"?

You must live in some alternate universe where passive humility is arrogance and vice versa....either that, or you've been watching bisping this whole time and mistook him for henderson since TUF9.....or you're high

IMO, he loses to any of those 3 fighters, with Rashad being his best chance at winning. He has gotten comfortable with his right hand (and rightfully so), but relying on that and abandoning the fundamentals that got you to that level to begin with gives a fighter or Jon, Rashad, or Anderson caliber a massive advantage.

He's kinda like Chuck from 6-7 years ago, where his main weapon was his right hand, but you respected his wrestling even though he never used it. The problem is that formula is flawed in today's MMA....it's too versatile for that style to succeed. Evidence by the fact that his recent success (post-Shields) is against fighters of that same Pride-era.

I like Dan, but no matter how I look at it, he's headed for a loss in any of the 3 scenarios.

I thought he might give Evans problems until I seen Shogun repeatedly take him down and Rashad is way more devastating than shogun as far as takedowns and top control. I think Evans or jones would take him down and wear him out I dont think they would give him a chance to depend on that huge right hand. You never know Jones my stand with him since he has everyone else and had big success doing so. Dan is a beast but he has become to one dimensional.

I believe Dan can beat anyone on any given day. I would love to see him go after either belt.

LHW belt is going to be the belt he will go far because I dont think he would want to fight Chael Sonnen when he wins the belt :D.... Not that he is scared or anything, but because they have history together.

Could be wrong, but I see Hendo fighting Jones/Evans winner instead

TRT is not illegal the Guy is like 5000 years old Im surprised he has testostrone. If done properly it is not a clear cut advantage. I think you can eother fight or you cant a drug cant make you good.

That's the prototypical Dan defense, "oh he just gassed".

He gasses when people out fight him. He "gassed" after Silva beat his ass in the second after what was a uneventful first. He "gassed" against Rich Franklin, and escaped the third after poking Rich in the eye when he was getting his ass beat. He "gassed" against Shields when he got put on his but at will from the second half of the first round on. He "gassed" against Shogun, and spent the entire 5th round on his back and couldn't walk after the fight was over.

The Shogun fight he didnt have to cut weight, I really believed he gassed in that one 4th and 5th rounds are brutal, and he spent alot of energy going for the finish prior.

Don't forget, Hendo has one big advantage over these guys with the exception of Silva: his chin. He can take loads of punishment without facial damage. A rock solid chin and a hand of dynamite make for one scary dude. Rashad has been knocked out stanky leg, Jones' chinh has yet to be tested.

Hendo is a dangerous man. I wouldn't count him out against Silva either.

So Mr.Hendo gets to pick which title he wants to fight for huh? like there's not enough contenders and top fighters at MD,I think if he gets a shot should be a LHW,why get the MD division involved in this? Dana has always been full of shite, and he'll always favor certain fighters before others, sad Dana, sad!

Dan deserves a title shot and he will take the Jones/Evans winner. Likely to be Jones and Hendo is gonna knock his head off! (hopefully)

Hendo is a beast and is trouble for anybody. I would love to see him fight the winner of Jones and Evans. Jones has owned that division and only two fighters are left who can pose a challenge for Jones...Evans and Hendo.

I think Dan is more deserving of the shot for the 205 strap. He left the UFC on a high note after his complete destruction of Bisbing. Then he went to SF and had a bit of a rough start. But he went on a terror after that; ending with the LHW strap round his waist. Why shouldn't hew get the shot? I for one love the champion vs champion superfights.
