Airing live on FOX Sports 1, the preliminary card for tonight’s (Sun., August 23, 2015) UFC Fight Night 74 are in the books from the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

In the featured preliminary bout, Canadian veteran Sam Stout faced Frankie Perez. Stout was aggressive early but didn’t land much. All of the sudden, he paid the price whiffing on his strikes, as Perez dropped him with a huge counter right to swarm with a barrage of punches for the finish.

Then in a surprising move, Perez then retired at 26 years old after his biggest win, choosing to stop putting his body through the grind of fighting. Watch his shocking announcement right here:

Yves Jabouin met Felipe Arantes. The veteran ‘Tiger’ dropped Arantes with a big slam early to maintain position with some light elbows early. However, the Brazilian turned the tide with a slick transition into an armbar from the bottom, earning the tap towards the end of the opening frame.

Marcos Rogerio de Lima battled Nikita Krylov at light heavyweight, and the bout began with big kicks and punches as advertised. Krylov escaped a guillotine to unload on de Lima, but the Brazilian went for another choke, and this time it was tight. But ‘Al Capone’ somehow escaped to lock on a choke of his own, earning a quick tap for another first round stoppage.

Chris Kelades and Chris Beal got the FOX Sports 1 prelims started off at flyweight. Grounding Kelades early, Beal unleashed some big shots and elbows. Beal scored with more strikes in the second, but the gritty Kelades managed to fight back with his own. Beal reversed a takedown in the third to land on top, and Kelades fought back with some good shots on the feet. Beal countered late, and the bout ended in a firefight that Kelades took home by split decision.

In the second Fight Pass fight, lightweight Shane Campbell threw down with Elias Silverio, who used a smothering top game to control Campbell early. But ‘Shaolin’ fought back with his strikes, even grounding Silverio with some takedowns of his own. Campbell defended Silverio’s takedowns well in the third, ending the bout in top position to earn a hard-fought decision win.

Kicking off the Fight Pass prelims, local Jiu-jitsu trainer Misha Cirkunov battled Daniel Jolly at light heavyweight. Cirkunov used his ground expertise to get Jolly’s back and unload a torrent of shots to earn a late first round stoppage.
