Islam Makhachev on Ian Machado Garry: “He acts like he’s a bad guy”
Islam Makhachev believes Ian Machado Garry has tried to play the bad-guy role in the ton of interviews the latter has lately given.
But Makhachev is also convinced that “The Future” is humble, and if the latter isn’t, he will make sure to humble him.
Welterweight titleholder, P4P king and two-division champ Makhachev will be locking horns with Garry this weekend in the main event of UFC 330.
Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov forged one of the UFC’s biggest rivalries, and at UFC 330, their respective proteges, Ian Machado Garry and Islam Makhachev, will carry that rivalry forward.
However, despite many dubbing this matchup “Ireland vs. Dagestan 2,” there has been no real bad blood between Makhachev and Garry so far, and they have kept the buildup respectful.
It’s pure competitive rivalry. Garry admits Makhachev is the best man on the planet, but after August 15, when he dethrones the Russian, he will be the baddest man on earth.
Makhachev, on the other hand, respects Garry’s body of work in the UFC but believes he will stop the Irishman under three rounds at UFC 330. During a recent sit-down, Makhachev said:
“He [Ian Machado Garry] acts like he’s a bad guy, tries to do too much interviews. The crowd is gonna be on my side because nobody likes my opponent. We will make him humble.”

Ian Machado Garry believes the hate he’s been getting is all fake
During a recent interview with ESPN MMA, Ian Machado Garry opined that the hate he’s been receiving from netizens over the past few weeks isn’t real, as when traveling the world, he has always met a ton of fans who have always approached him with “joy, love, and appreciation.” The Dubliner said:
“It’s all fake. It’s all fake. It’s all on social media, and it’s all fake. Any bit of hate that you speak about, it’s not reality. When I walk down the road in Philadelphia, in Dublin, Ireland, in Brazil, in England, anywhere I go, I’m met with nothing but joy and love and appreciation. I’ve never had anyone come up in the street and say anything negative to me. So, it’s all fake. It’s all false. It’s all a pantomime and it’s all on a world that isn’t real. Social media isn’t real.”
