Tomasz Narkun Joins OKTAGON, Set for Szczecin Clash with Alexander Poppeck
A Polish MMA standout has landed in OKTAGON. Tomasz Narkun, with a record of 21-6, signed with the promotion and heads straight into a debut against Germany’s Alexander Poppeck (20-5, 1 NC). The fight highlights OKTAGON 86, the organization’s first event in Poland, set for April 11 at Enea Arena in Szczecin.
Tomasz Narkun vs. Alexander Poppeck in OKTAGON
Narkun earned his stripes as one of Poland’s top light heavyweights over the last decade. Nicknamed “The Giraffe,” he claimed the KSW light heavyweight title in October 2015 and defended it five times, every win coming via finish before the second round ended. He beat legends like Mamed Khalidov twice, even stepping up to heavyweight for a shot at Phil De Fries’ belt. Fresh off three straight victories, all in under 136 seconds combined, Narkun looks primed to chase more gold in OKTAGON.

Beyond the titles, Narkun built a fanbase with his explosive style and big personality, always quick with a smile or a bold callout. Fans still talk about his wars in KSW, where he turned doubters into believers round after round.
Poppeck brings serious power from Germany. As the country’s leading light heavyweight, “Ironside” notched a win last month and sits on a four-fight streak, including first-round knockouts of Jeremy Kimball and Pavol Langer. His calm vibe and imposing build make him a tough matchup, especially as he travels to take on a Polish favorite and stake his claim in the division.
Poppeck sharpened his edge in promotions across Europe, grinding through tough decisions early before unlocking that knockout streak. At 6’5″ with hands like hammers, he studies opponents meticulously, turning fights into highlight-reel moments.
The card packs more Polish flavor too. Mateusz Legierski defends his lightweight title for the first time on home soil against Gökhan Aksu. Michał Materla, a combat sports veteran, faces Christian Jungwirth under STAND and BANG rules. At middleweight, Piotr Wawrzyniak meets Mateusz Janur. OKTAGON 86 shapes up as a can’t-miss night.
