Conor McGregor Vows To Reset ‘Generational Beating’ In “The Last Dance” During IFW 2027
Former UFC double champion Conor McGregor has a date in mind for his last dance.
After a five-year hiatus due to injuries, political ambitions, BKFC duties, legal issues, and suspensions, “The Irishman” returned to the octagon earlier this month at UFC 329 to run it back with Max Holloway. However, his comeback plans were ruined as he tore his ACL and meniscus while throwing a wild flying kick just when the bout started and therefore lost by TKO (injury) after 69 seconds.
McGregor is set to undergo surgery to treat his right knee injury. Following recovery and rehabilitation, “The Notorious,” who has one fight remaining on his UFC contract, had previously stated that it is ‘well within his realm to return by next summer’ with the help of “today’s regenerative medicine advancements.”
Moments earlier, the 38-year-old posted behind-the-scenes footage of himself throwing leg kicks on the pads ahead of his rematch with Holloway. In the caption, he also revealed the date he has in mind for the final fight of his UFC contract. The Irishman captioned the post:
“What was to be a generational beating is now to be reset. IFW 2027. The Last Dance.”

Dana White weighs in on how long Conor McGregor will be on the sidelines again
This past weekend, at the Zuffa Boxing post-fight presser, UFC CEO Dana White confirmed that Conor McGregor is out for a year. He said:
“We had him on FaceTime tonight ringside, but Conor McGregor is out for a year.”

When the Dubliner returns, he has said that his opponent “has to be” Max Holloway. Even the former BMF and featherweight champion is ready to wait until next year.
However, if the UFC does not want McGregor vs. Holloway 3, the Hawaiian would then want to run it back with newly minted lightweight champion Justin Gaethje, whom Holloway had knocked out cold at UFC 300.
