Nick Diaz Calls Ronda Rousey’s Loss A “Simple Mistake”

Diaz and Rousey

When former UFC women’s bantamweight champion “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey was shockingly knocked out by new champion Holly Holm in the main event of last night’s (November 14, 2015) UFC 193 from Australia, the mixed martial arts (MMA) world blew up.

Fans were quick to criticize Rousey, saying that her game plan and strategy may have been off, or maybe it was a lack of motivation.

UFC welterweight and middleweight Nick Diaz, however, who happens to be a close friend of the former champion believes it was much less than that.

Diaz took to his official twitter account, claiming that it was just a “simple mistake” that marked the end of a dominant reign for Rousey:

“The Stockton Bad Boy” last competed in the main event of UFC 183 last January, taking on all-time great Anderson Silva in a bout where “The Spider” ultimately secured a unanimous decision victory. However, that victory would be changed to a no-contest when Silva popped for performance-enhancing-drugs (PEDs). Ironically, Diaz would also test positive for Marijuana metabolites and would be shockingly and ludicrously suspended five years by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC). Diaz continued with his twitter rant, comparing the fight last night to his with Silva, saying that if Rousey would’ve fought like he did, she would have been awarded the decision unlike himself:

What do you make of the Stockton native’s comments?
