Michał Oleksiejczuk Edges Out Marc-André Barriault in Thrilling Slugfest - UFC Vegas 113 Highlights

Michał Oleksiejczuk got the best of Marc-André Barriault in a three-round slugfest at UFC Vegas 113 on Saturday.

The opening round belonged to Oleksiejczuk, who cracked Barriault early with a nasty left hand. That prompted Barriault to hang around near the fence and keep his guard high, allowing Oleksiejczuk to control the cage and look for the fight-ending shot.

That moment never came in the first, but Oleksiejczuk closed out the round with a takedown, ensuring he would go up 1-0 heading into the second stanza.

Oleksiejczuk continued to control the action in round two, but Barriault seemingly came alive halfway through the round, picking up the pace and putting pressure on his opponent. Powerbar’ landed some brutal blows in the clinch, including a knee up the middle that just missed Oleksiejczuk’s chin.

Barriault’s second-round surge sent us to a do-or-die third round.

With fatigue setting in, neither fighter could claim a clear advantage in the third. A failed takedown attempt from Oleksiejczuk played right into Barriault’s dirty boxing. But in the end, we ultimately went to the scorecards for a decision that could have realistically gone either way.

Official Result: Michał Oleksiejczuk def. Marc-André Barriault via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).
