Kennedy Blasts Belfort, Asks To Fight Him

Highly ranked UFC middleweight Tim Kennedy has been out of action since dropping a controversial loss to Yoel Romero last September, but it looks as if he is getting ready to make his return.

Having recently said that he would like to fight all of the cheaters in the sport, Kennedy has specifically called out troubled Brazilian legend Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort. Belfort has had a controversial past regarding drug tests and his use of the now banned testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).

“The Phenom”, after being demolished by Chris Weidman last May, got back on track last weekend (November 7, 2015) in Brazil by scoring a vicious head kick knockout of Dan Henderson.

It seems as if Kennedy isn’t happy that Belfort is held in such high regards and he expressed his interest in dishing out a beating to “The Phenom”:

“”I am asking for Vitor Belfort for my next fight,” Kennedy wrote on Facebook. “Not because he is slower and fatter (even though he is) or because he can only use slightly less steroids, but because he is treated as a legend. He has been cheating his entire career. He doesn’t deserve anything but a good ass whooping and to be stricken from the books of MMA history.”

Continuing on, Kennedy confirmed his plan to take on all of the fighters who have been caught using performance enhancing drugs (PEDs), noting that he wants to “beat the breaks” off of all of them:

“I want to go fight every single one of them,” Kennedy said, “and beat the brakes off of them and kind of put a big exclamation mark that this is a new era of the sport, that the clean athletes, we’re going to smash every single one of you cheaters that have historically been making all the big money and cheating your way through it.”

At this stage in each man’s career, a bout between Kennedy and Belfort may make quite a bit of sense.
