Josh Samman Still Hospitalized, In Critical Condition

Josh Samman

Josh Samman, 28 years old, was found with his roommate, Troy Kirkingburg, by authorities, who discovered the scene. Unforntalty, Kirkingburg was pronounced dead on arrival. MMA Fighting is reporting that the UFC has been made aware of Samman’s condition, which is that he is still alive but is fighting for his life while still in critical condition.

Christopher Rothstein, who is a local MMA reporter and ring announcer, issued this statement from Samman’s mother via FOX Sports:

“Josh is still in a coma, and more tests are being done. That is the latest update on my son’s condition,” Samman’s mother said in the statement. “And in spite of speculation, there was no heroin found in Josh’s system whatsoever. No matter what people are posting on social media.

“The reason I am making this statement is, because Josh touched so many lives, and loved inspiring others, especially young people. I don’t want them to lose faith in him, and whatever he brought out in them, because of the lies. He would want them to “never give up.”

Kirkingburg’s fiancee Charlene Cristobal also issued a statement:

Samman made his UFC debut on the reality show “The Ultimate Fighter” in season 17, which saw interim light heavyweight champion Jon Jones coach Samman. Samman currently holds a 3-2 record in the UFC.
