Jon Jones & Daniel Cormier Come To Blows At UFC 178 Pre-Fight Media Event
It’s no secret that UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and No. 1 contender Daniel Cormier don’t like on another. Just today, Jones promised to dominate “DC” in the main of September 27’s UFC 178 from Las Vegas.
But things got taken to an extreme level at a UFC 178 pre-fight press conference. When the two archrivals squared off at the media event, things got a bit heated, resulting in a wild brawl that could set the stage for one of the most bitter rivalries in MMA history:
With the trashtalk now set to fly to an astrological level, Jones quickly took to Twitter to berate his opponent:
Put some ice on that face DC, you got lots of interviews tomorrow

Lol those baby punches from the bottom, I really hope you have more prepared than that for when I take you down again
— Jon Bones Jones (@JonnyBones) August 4, 2014
For his part, Cormier responded to “Bones” with conviction, threatening to slap the champ the next time he got up in his face:
“@JonnyBones: Come on DC where was your takedown defense?” I got some td def for you. Don’t ever put ur dirty face on me again.
— Daniel Cormier (@dc_mma) August 4, 2014
I won’t let another man get in my face and put his forehead against mine. I will react every time. @JonnyBones next time I will slap you.

“DC” also declared that Jones “hit like a b****,” something that prompted a negative response from former UFC welterweight champion Matt Hughes:
@JonnyBones u hit like a bitch. Better be kicking because I will eat ur punches all day. Ur a punk. I can’t wait to beat u up. My goodness
— Daniel Cormier (@dc_mma) August 4, 2014
Wow. Did UFC 178 just become the most pivotal bad blood-fueled main event in UFC history?
