Back in April 2015, Joanne Calderwood (10-1) suffered the first loss of her career when she was submitted by Maryna Moroz. “JoJo” wanted to get back on track by putting on a stellar performance against Cortney Casey (4-2) in her home country of Scotland at UFC Fight Night 72.

That’s exactly what she did against a game “Cast Iron.”

Calderwood landed a leg kick immediately. Casey stunned Calderwood with combinations to the head. “JoJo” clinched her opponent against the fence. Casey dropped guard and landed elbows with Calderwood on top. She tried going for an armbar off her back, but had trouble executing it. Calderwood connected with an elbow. “Cast Iron” went for a heel hook, but Calderwood defended it. They traded punches on the ground until the first round ended.
