Darren Till Confirms He’ll Fight Again In 2019, Wants Jorge Masvidal Rematch

Darren Till confirms

Darren Till wants to fight before 2019 comes to an end. The Englishman hasn’t competed since being knocked out by Jorge Masvidal earlier this year.

While being interviewed by Fighters Only recently, Till confirmed he plans on fighting again before the end of 2019 (via MMA Junkie):

“Yeah definitely – 1 million percent,” Till said “I’m not saying I’m back, but I’m just in my happy place. I feel like the Darren Till before he was fighting in Rotterdam. I got back from Brazil and I was just in this world of going to the gym, training really hard.”

Till believes had he defeated Masvidal earlier this year in London he could’ve been fighting Kamaru Usman for the 170-pound title. However, Masvidal connected with a flush shot in the second round that rendered him unconscious:

“Maybe my hand was 50 percent in,” Till said. “If I beat Masvidal, it would have been me vs. Usman. But now it’s (Ben) Askren-Masvidal. I think if Askren wins, he probably might get a shot.”

While Till isn’t exactly sure what’ will be next for him, he knows one thing for sure – he wants a second crack at “Gamebred”:

“Masvidal, he’s a respectful guy,” Till said. “He’d come to me after the fight and I was – not crying, but I had my head down and someone tapped me on my shoulder and it was Masvidal, and he shook my hand. He was like, ‘You nearly had me in the first (round).’ I want that (expletive) rematch. I want that rematch.”

Do you think Till will get his opportunity to rematch Masvidal?
