Dagestan’s Ibragim Ibragimov’s Three Brothers at Manchester United While He Dominates the MMA Cage
When most families debate over dinner whether their kids should pursue football or fighting, the Ibragimovs solved it by doing both. Ibragim Ibragimov, the eldest at 20 years old, is carving out a name for himself in the MMA world as an undefeated prospect, while his three younger brothers – Amir, Gazik, and Muhammad – are building futures at Manchester United’s academy.
The Ibragimov Brothers
Starting in Dagestan, Russia, the four brothers moved to England when they were younger, and rather than consolidating their talents into one sport, they’ve split their efforts across the football and fighting worlds.
Ibragim earned the nickname “The Mauler” for good reason. He’s maintained a perfect 9-0 record since debuting in August 2021, finishing six of those wins by knockout or submission. His wrestling foundation is solid, he started training Greco-Roman wrestling at age 6, a discipline that’s served him well in grappling exchanges.
Now training with Manchester Top Team and Team Nurmagomedov, Ibragim competes in both the lightweight and featherweight divisions, though he recently fought at featherweight. His three straight victories in the PFL have included submissions, decisions, and dominant grappling displays, particularly against Josh Reed and Nacho Campos.
On his success, Ibragim told media outlets: “Obviously, having an undefeated record is good. I love winning and I hate losing! That’s why I’m undefeated.”
Meanwhile, Amir, at just 16, is the prospect generating the most buzz at Old Trafford. He’s captained Manchester United at under-14 and under-15 levels and has already trained with Erik ten Hag’s first team. The left winger earned comparisons to Wayne Rooney from coach Raducio King, who recruited him to United after he switched from Sheffield United’s academy.
Gazik and Muhammad round out the trio at Manchester United. Gazik plays centre-back in the under-14 squad, while Muhammad recently transferred from Manchester City’s academy in 2023 after winning a youth tournament with the Cityzens.
“My two little brothers as well play for Man United so they’ll make it too. I believe in them.”
