Countdown To UFC 198: Anderson Silva vs. Uriah Hall

FotorCreated 20

This is just one of those events that everyone is looking forward to, UFC 198 is set to go off on May 14 in Curitiba, Brazil, and is overflowing with some of the biggest talent today. As well as the UFC heavyweight title fight between Fabricio Werdum and Stipe Miocic in the main event, there’s the number one contender bout between Jacare Souza and Vitor Belfort in the co-main slot. Then we’ll anticipate the debut of Cris Cyborg as she faces Leslie Smith, former Pride and UFC champion Mauricio Shogun Rua will battle Corey Anderson, and there’s a number of living legends on the prelims too.

But the fight we’re looking at today is possibly the most anticipated on the entire card. Former pound-for-pound king and ex-UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva will take on Uriah Hall in a showdown between arguably the scariest strikers in the division’s history.

Both men’s flashy and unorthodox striking styles have led to multiple highlight reel knockouts, but there’s a big question surrounding this fight; does ‘The Spider’ have enough left in the tank to quell the fire of a rising phenom like ‘U-Hall?’

Years back during the Brazilian’s prime we  have been looking at a completely different fight here, but now he’s changed and aged so much that even Michael Bisping was close to knocking Silva out during their fight. That’s no disrespect to ‘The Count,’ but let’s be honest, it’s debatable whether that would have happened five years ago.
