Report - Benoit Saint Denis returns in fire fight with Joel Alvarez at UFC 315 in Canada

A massive lightweight pairing between, Benoit Saint Denis and fan-favorite finisher, Joel Alvarez is reportedly in the works to feature at UFC 315 on May 10. from the Bell Center in Montreal, Canada.

Benoit Saint Denis, the current number thirteen ranked lightweight contender, will look to snap a two-fight losing skid in his reported return in ‘The Great White North’, most recently suffering a doctor’s stoppage TKO loss to return headliner, Renato Moicano in the main event of UFC Fight Night Paris last September.

As for Spanish contender, Alvarez, the 32-year-old lightweight mainstay is currently riding a three-fight winning run since his bloody stoppage loss to the number one ranked, Arman Tsarukyan back in 2022. Last time out, the Gijon contender finished Drakkar Klose with a thunderous flying knee knockout finish at UFC Fight Night Tampa in December.

And as per a report from Alvaro Colmenero, a lightweight pairing between Benoit Saint Denis, and Joel Alvarez is currently targeted to take at UFC 315 in the promotion’s return to Quebec next month.

“Joel Álvarez vs Benoit Saint-Denis is scheduled for UFC 315 on May 10 in Canada at lightweight,” Colmenero posted on his official X account.

Before his loss to Moicano, a staph-infection ridden Saint Denis took on former interim lightweight champion, Dustin Poirier, suffering a second round knockout loss to the Lafayette veteran in a rallying performance.

During his initial unbeaten run in the promotion, Saint Denis racked up consecutive victories over the likes of Ismael Bonfim, Thiago Moises, and Matt Frevola to name a few.

A devastating finisher, Alvarez has turned in five separate knockout victories to go with a jaw-dropping 17 separate submission triumphs in his professional mixed martial arts career.

Making his Octagon debut back in 2019, Alvarez’s sole losses have come against the above-mentioned, Tsarukyan as well as standout, Damir Ismagulov. Other than that, the Spaniard has bested the likes of Joe Duffy, Thiago Moises, Elvis Brenner, Marc Diakiese, and the above-mentioned, Klose.
