Aleksander Emelianenko Facing Prison Time For Sexual Assault Charges

The Emelianenko era in MMA was a brutal and exciting time for fans of the sport; for 10 years Fedor reigned as the king of all heavyweights, and his Brother Aleksander was a force to be reckoned with during his time in Pride FC. The time since has seen both men retire from MMA, but not before Aleks had a few freak-show fights with no names, and Bob Sapp.

Always in and out of trouble with the law, Aleksander parted ways with his older sibling Fedor, and more recently he has been involved in some rather seedy events. Bar brawls, shootings and now a much more dark crime; sexual assault. The scenario has come to light since Emelianenko’s arrest in February, which was for a car wreck that caused actual bodily harm. “First, the court should extend Emelianenko’s arrest, which ends June 30,” according to the 27-year-old victim’s attorney (via MMABoxing.ru). “And we will defend our position that he is a threat to society. Most likely, Emelianenko will get imprisonment from four-to-six years. We will insist on that.”

Not good news from any side of the fence, as Aleks seems to be fading into obscurity and potentially incarceration. Gone are the days that the Emelianenko bros were considered serious threats to any man, as older Brother looks to a more spiritual life, and the younger sibling stands accused of some rather nasty crimes.

I’ll keep you updated as the situation progresses.
