Yakhyaev got straight to work, charging forward and clipping Cerqueira with a head kick near the fence. With his opponent overwhelmed, Yakhyaev clinched up and slammed the Brazilian to the mat.
Once on the ground, it was just a matter of time.
Yakhyaev immediately took Cerqueira’s back and cinched in a rear-naked choke, forcing the tapout just past the 30-second mark of the opening round.
