Debutant Noah Gugnon Silences Serbian Crowd With 81-Second Finish Over Milos Janicic At UFC Belgrade

Noah Gugnon needed just 81 seconds to make a lasting impression in his UFC debut.

The French lightweight spoiled Milos Janicic’s homecoming at UFC Belgrade, submitting the Serbian prospect with a first-round rear-naked choke to silence the partisan crowd.

Janicic opened aggressively with sharp jabs to the head and body, but Gugnon quickly shifted the momentum with a crushing leg kick that immediately compromised the Serbian’s lead leg. Unable to put weight on it after absorbing several more kicks, Janicic collapsed to the canvas as Gugnon capitalized on the opening.

Rather than allowing his opponent back to his feet, the Frenchman followed him to the ground and wasted no time advancing to a dominant position. Gugnon secured back control, locked in both hooks, and smoothly transitioned to a rear-naked choke that forced the tap just 1:21 into the opening round.
