Tito Ortiz vs Lil' Nog in the works for UFC 128
Posted on November 12, 2010, 11:06 AM by Jamie KennedyWith many in doubt over Tito Ortiz's future with the UFC, news has emerged that the ''Huntington Beach Badboy'' still has a job with the promotion, Dana White confirmed today that Tito will take on Pride FC veteran Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, the twin brother of former Pride and UFC Heavyweight Champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. The bout has so far been rumoured to take place at UFC 128 but is yet to be finalised by the UFC, Dana did confirm that the bout is likely for March 2011 and according to recent reports the UFC is set to make a trip back to Abu Dhabi for its 128 venue that will take place on March 19th 2011.
The UFC's UK President Marshall Zelaznik addressed the situation and said: '' I know there's been talk of March 19th potentially happening. While we're looking at delivering a pay per view event around that time, nothings been defined in terms of whether Abu Dhabi gets it or someone else.''
Tito Ortiz will be looking to bounce back his most recent loss as his former TUF 3 student Matt 'The Hammer' Hamill bested him at UFC 121. Ortiz hasn't registered a win in the UFC since 2006 when he defeated Ken Shamrock via TKO in the first round, and since then has lost to Chuck Liddell, he managed a draw against Rashad Evans, before losing to both Forrest Griffin and Lyoto Machida. In many eyes this fight will be seen as a make or break for Tito as he desperately needs a win, to guarantee his place in the UFC and add relevance to his status in the light heavyweight division.
Antonio Rogerio Nogueira is also coming off a loss from his latest outing in the UFC, where he lost to TUF 8 winner Ryan Bader via Unanimous Decision. So far lil Nog has had a solid start to his UFC career with wins over Luis Cane and Jason Brilz. Nogueira is a veteran of Japanese promotion Pride FC and has beaten the likes of Alistair Overeem, Dan Henderson, Kazushi Sakuraba and also fought to a decision loss against current UFC light heavyweight Champion Mauricio Shogun Rua within the Japanese promotion. Antonio will also need a win to solidify his status in the UFC if he is to make a legitimate run at the UFC light heavyweight Championship

this will be an easy win for lil nog, ortiz is way past his prime. He is starting to look like shamrock now
agreed, I dont even see Ortiz even taking Lil Nog to the ground and if Ortiz stands up with Nog, he'll get outclassed
How can Tito still have a job? Look at the fighters they have cut lately and Tito hasn't won a fight in 4 years.
if tito wins a fight like this ! this is what tito needs!
Talk about a step down in competition for lil Nog lol
lol, I was just thinking its about time we test Tito for real
Lil' Nog for days!
Let me get this straight, Tito drops 3 in a row, a draw before that, and another loss before that. On the other hand, Lil Nog was on a path od destruction and loses 1 to Bader and hes forced to face this Tito? In what world does that make sense?
this is a personal thing between dana y tito, dana wants to get rid of him and at the same get some hype on little nog, this way he will have an excuse to realse tito and build a future fight between little nog and the winner of ramp and lyoto or thisago silva and vera
He's had an excuse to cut Tito haha!
probably a KO victory for lil nog and walking papers for tito....
Why is Tito still in the UFC? He should be cut by now. When Tito loses this fight I don't want to see that **** in the Octagon EVER AGAIN.
Hell ya.
ewwww
this will be the final nail in titos coffin
what ****ed match up it will be miricale if Tito wins....
What a bad matchup for a fight unless you like tito being punched around like a ragg doll, i mean wouldnt jones be a better pick for lil nog than tito if he wins bader? or at least some1 who can make a fight of it,? please id like to see lil nog v Brtiz again as the judges rapped him of there last fight??
Tito will probably lose but I just can't see Nog knocking him out.
one quick question....WHY?!
i wanted to see a chuck liddell and tito fight again both of them need a win wo why didnt they put them up together i would have sh1t myself if tito koed chuck but i know it would never happen
Tito is gonna get ****ed up i hope he doesnt pullout of this one
Dana doesnt want to cut Tito thats too easy for him to do. I think he rather have Tito lose like 6 in a row and wait til Tito QUITS then Dana can rub it in his face for the rest of his life.
