Vinicius Oliveira Reveals Serious Fight Camp Injuries After Submission Loss To Mario Bautista At UFC Vegas 113: “Things Went Wrong Again”
According to Vinicius Oliveira, he wasn’t at full strength heading into the fight last weekend.
Oliveira faced Mario Bautista in a pivotal bantamweight main event bout at UFC Vegas 113 last Saturday night at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Despite confidently outlining his game plan for Bautista throughout fight week, “LokDog” was dealt a harsh reality once the Octagon doors closed, as he was largely stifled by his opponent.
Oliveira looked unusually sluggish and out of rhythm throughout the contest, a struggle that showed as Bautista controlled much of the action. By the end of the second round, the 30-year-old Brazilian was forced to tap to a rear-naked choke.
Vinicius Oliveira, who entered the bout riding a perfect 4-0 record in the UFC, shed light after the fight on the factors he believes contributed to his underwhelming performance and ultimately resulted in his first defeat inside the promotion.

Vinicius Oliveira Discloses He Battled Broken Arm Prior To One-Sided Defeat At UFC Vegas 113
After suffering a lopsided submission loss to Mario Bautista at UFC Vegas 113, Vinicius Oliveira took to social media on Sunday to address the setback. “LokDog” disclosed that he endured multiple injuries throughout his training camp and had even fractured his arm just two months before the fight, yet chose not to withdraw, believing those setbacks significantly contributed to the defeat.
“Well, earthlings, things went wrong again. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve lost in my life, but every time I’ve gotten up and moved on. I’m sad for my team and for everyone who was cheering for me, but anyway, no sad stories, let’s move on to another journey. I did the impossible, I dropped below 84kg again, I had 3 injuries during this fight camp: a rotator cuff injury, a meniscus injury, and also a fracture in my arm, but I’m still the best, the terror has a name! Yeeeeeeah!” Oliveira wrote on Instagram.
Vinicius Oliveira earned his UFC contract with a first-round knockout victory over Victor Madrigal on Dana White’s Contender Series in September 2023. He carried that momentum into his promotional debut in March 2024, where he secured a spectacular flying-knee knockout against Bernardo Sopaj.
“LokDog” continued to showcase his consistency by securing three consecutive unanimous decision victories over formidable opponents such as Ricky Simón, Said Nurmagomedov, and Kyler Phillips. He currently holds a professional record of 23-4, including 16 wins by knockout.
