“The fight shouldn’t go ahead,” Conor McGregor on Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua Netflix’s Boxing Fight

Jake Paul Says He's Found Anthony Joshua's Weakness - His Losses All Share One Thing in Common

Conor McGregor has had his issues over the year with Jake Paul over the years, but he still sees an abundance of danger in ‘The Problem Child’ aiming to do battle next with Anthony Joshua. The Paul vs. AJ clash is set to go down on December 19th on Netflix with Joshua stepping up to fill a vacancy left by Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis, who was initially slated to fight Paul before reported legal issues emerged for the lightweight.

Going from a lightweight knockout artist to a heavyweight KO artist is quite a different kettle of fish and ‘The Notorious’ seems to side with the notion that it is too much. This was expressed by the former two-division champion during a recent exclusive interview with Bloody Elbow, as McGregor said,

“If he makes that walk, I’ll give him his respect for that, but it’s very dangerous, you know. It seems like Netflix are all over him again. It’s a dangerous sport and you can’t overlook that. Joshua’s a big boy and a powerhouse. I’ve sat ringside and watched Joshua. That’s a heavy punching man and he has an anger in him, he has a darkness in him, does Anthony Joshua. I don’t think a lot of people see that. So my opinion is the fight shouldn’t go ahead. The fight shouldn’t go ahead. If he does it, I’ll give him his respect for that.”

Conor McGregor wasn’t happy that the rumored logan paul fight fell apart

Conor McGregor has had a certain level of proximity to both of the Paul brothers in recent years and recently touched on the rumblings of a boxing bout with Logan Paul that fell apart and did not ultimately come to fruition. In the referenced video above, McGregor touched on how the Logan Paul fight falling out was a big one and that he had a certain level of keenness to partake in a boxing match with the WWE star.

The Irish star mentioned that the influencer boxing fights are in a way always going to be there and that McGregor’s pursuit was more gold belts with an expressed interest to vie for Islam Makhachev‘s welterweight belt and try to become the first-ever three-division champion in UFC history.

Conor McGregor mentioned being inspired by Mike Tyson’s work on that more novelty-related boxing circuit and spoke about how much the former heavyweight champion served as an inspiration for him.
