Donovan Salvato, a Tennessee-born professional mixed martial artist was arrested and held for a period of 12 hours in Nashville last week, following an alleged heated argument with his roommate, Abel Sosa, where he is alleged to have bitten the latter’s testicles.

Salvato, who is yet to make his professional mixed martial arts record, competed three times as an amateur, scoring a 2-1 record which included a pair of submission victories to begin his career. 

Salvato, 29, is alleged to have bitten Sosa’s testicles during a heated argument at their residence on November 11. — resulting in a 2.5-inch bite mark and a subsequent laceration to his scrotum.

Donovan Salvato charged with domestic assault, bodily harm following alleged incident

The Hendersonville native was initially held at the Metro Nashville Jail for a period of 12 hours following his arrest on November 12. — where he was held on domestic violence hold prior to receiving charges of domestic assault and bodily injury. Sosa is also alleged to have received both bruising and swelling to his head upon inspection following the alleged assault. (H/T MMA News)

As per Sosa, the victim alleged that the incident stemmed from a continuous argument between himself and Salvato, with the arrest warrant and affidavit revealing how the conflict between the two stemmed from Salvato staying at Sosa’s residence unwanted. Responding police officers explained how they believed Salvato, who had feld the scene of the alleged incident, was the aggressor.

Sosa claimed he would need to write a book in the future in which he would detail incidents he has encountered throughout his life.

I need to write a book or something about some of these stories I’ve encountered,” Sosa told ScoopNashville. “Who can clearly say they got their testicles bit by a professional MMA fighter during a fight? I’ll wait…. Nashville can be so wild that I’ve encountered more danger here than overseas to an extent.
