Mark Munoz Signs New 4-Fight Deal With UFC

It looks like “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” will be re-entering the official UFC rankings.

Following his removal from the UFC rankings, while re-negotiating his contract, Mark Munoz has signed a new four-fight deal with the promotion.

The Filipino fought his last fight on his previous contract at UFC Fight Night 41 in May, where he was submitted in the first round by former Stirkeforce champion Gegard Mousasi. Munoz’s loss to Mousasi marked the middleweights second-straight defeat and his third setback in his last four outings.

With his run, and with him being out of contract, it looked like the 36-year old could be done with the worlds premier mixed martial arts organization. But, it looks like the UFC had other ideas as they have signed Munoz on a new four-fight deal.

Munoz confirmed the news on his official Instagram account, posting the following picture along with a few comments underneath:

“Just signed a 4-fight deal with @UFC @lunarpages @XYIENCE @AskUltra @team_munoz #myULTRAlife #5dstosuccess #riseaboveadversity

That’s good news for the UFC vet who suffered a knee injury in his most recent fight with Mousasi. The terms of the deal were not disclosed and it is still unknown when Munoz will return. He is currently waiting on an MRI scan on his injured knee.

Munoz, however, is lucky to have been given a second chance with the promotion, which have had no problem cutting ties with fighters with better records. But, with his only losses coming to the divisions elite the UFC have decided to give him another go inside the Octagon.
