UFC Macau: Alonzo Menifield Wins Insane Swinging Battle, Finishes Zhang Mingyang In Co-Main Event
Alonzo Menifield silenced the hometown crowd and handed Zhang Mingyang another crushing setback at UFC Macau.
Menifield delivered a statement-making performance, stopping Chinese finisher Zhang via first-round TKO in a chaotic firefight in the co-main event on Saturday night.
From the opening bell, both men came forward looking for a finish. “Mountain Tiger” opened aggressively with kicks and combinations, but Alonzo Menifield quickly settled into the contest, landing sharp calf kicks and heavy punches of his own. The exchanges grew increasingly violent as the round progressed, with neither fighter willing to give ground.
Atomic” also found success in the clinch, using his physical strength to pin Zhang against the fence and slow the American’s momentum. Although Zhang managed to reverse positions and fire back with knees and elbows, Menifield remained composed and continued searching for openings.
The turning point came during a furious exchange in the final minute of the round.
After absorbing some heavy shots from Zhang, Alonzo Menifield answered with a devastating punch that dropped the “Mountain Tiger”. Zhang managed to return to his feet, but the veteran smelled blood and immediately swarmed with another barrage of power shots along the fence.
Unable to intelligently defend himself, Zhang was left at the mercy of “Atomic’s” attack until the referee stepped in to stop the contest at 4:15 of the opening round.
The victory marks a strong bounce-back performance for Alonzo Menifield, who was coming off a first-round knockout loss to Volkan Oezdemir last November. He is now 11-6-1 in the UFC and 18-6-1 as a professional.

Meanwhile, for Mingyang, the loss marks his second straight defeat after entering the contest on the heels of a setback to Johnny Walker at UFC Shanghai in August 2025. The 27-year-old now holds a UFC record of 3-2 and sees his professional mark fall to 19-8.
