Jorge Masvidal set the MMA world on fire twice last night.

The first was for his insane knockout over Darren Till in the UFC London main event (watch it here), a shocking result no doubt. The second time is the one getting the most press, however.

Masvidal left an ESPN interview to sock a trash-talking Leon Edwards last night, inciting a wildfire. Dana White was none too happy that the UFC allowed it to happen, but Masvidal soon explained his side of the story.

Apparently, Edwards had been talking trash all throughout the lead-up to UFC London and Masvidal had enough. He threw and landed his now-infamous “three piece and a soda” and cut Edwards in the process. Police began investigating the altercation, but “Rocky” ultimately did not press any charges. He did, however, issue a statement to “Gamebred” on his Instagram account, giving credit to Masvidal for landing the shots.

But they won’t come without a price according to the surging Brit:

“Jorge, fair play sneaking your shots in when you could, but now you’re f-cked. If security wasn’t there you wouldn’t have made it back to the U.S., I’ll see you soon.”

Edwards toppled Gunnar Nelson in the UFC London co-main event to pick up a seventh win in a row. But instead of talking smack in that regard, he changed his tune by paying respect to Nelson. Edwards also thanked his fans and his team. He then closed by claiming he would end the year as the UFC welterweight champion:

“Very happy with my performance last night against a very high caliber opponent in Gunnar Nelson. Much respect to you Gunnar that was a great fight and I look forward to seeing you bounce back. Thanks to my team, friends, family and the fans for everything. Birmingham stand up!

“As I said — that’s seven in a row in the hardest division in the sport and I’m coming for everyone. World champ 2019 mark my words. If you’re not with me now, you will be.”
