Justin Gaethje’s Coach Explains What Concerned Him Most About Paddy Pimblett Before UFC 324
Justin Gaethje’s coach, Trevor Wittman, has a message for Paddy Pimblett. This past weekend, at UFC 324, ‘The Highlight’ and ‘The Baddy’ locked horns to battle for the interim lightweight championship, with Gaethje securing the strap after outstriking the 31-year-old for the majority of the five rounds.
Wittman had the perfect game plan for his pupil. Forward pressure and trading in the pocket are what Gaethje does the best, and it worked perfectly to hand the Brit his first loss in the UFC.
Before the fight, Paddy Pimblett had vowed to disfigure Gaethje’s face and had promised that the 37-year-old wouldn’t look the same after the interim title bout.
However, come fight night, Pimblett’s ambition turned into a nightmare. He was on the losing side, got dropped numerous times, and took a ton of damage.

Now, Trevor Wittman, while giving his thoughts on Pimblett’s performance, commended the latter’s grit and chin. However, the founder of ONX Sports confessed that he was severely unhappy with comments ‘The Baddy’ made about Gaethje in the buildup. He said:
“I’ve got the utmost respect for Paddy. Like I said prior to going into this, I knew he was a fighter. I knew he was growing. I’m always so respectful to other people, but this is why you don’t f*ing talk shit. That sh*t bothered me very badly. You can be respectful while doing shit, but there were a lot of things he said. I don’t let that get to me. You said you were going to mangle up Justin’s face – this is what happens.”

Justin Gaethje mocked Paddy Pimblett immediately after UFC 324 win
After mauling Paddy Pimblett for 25 minutes at UFC 324, ‘The Highlight’ walked straight to his opponent and made him eat his own words.
Talking about how teaching Pimblett a lesson for his previous comments was important and revealing what he told his British foe after the fight, Justin Gaethje quipped at the UFC 324 post-fight presser:
“He said my face was not going to look the same after the fight and his would look the exact same. As soon as it was over, I said, ‘Look at your face, motherf*cker. It does not look the same.'”
