Josh Hokit vs Jamahal Hill? The former UFC champ wants the fight
Once again, former UFC light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill has called for a clash with none other than Josh Hokit.
Right now, at heavyweight, Josh Hokit is arguably the most interesting character in the entire division. He certainly comes out with things that aren’t universally loved, but in equal measure, his ‘persona’ has generated a lot of intrigue – especially after the performance he was able to put on against Derrick Lewis at the UFC Freedom 250 card at the White House.
Jamahal Hill, meanwhile, has made no secret of the fact that he will be moving up to heavyweight. He has been through a rough spell in the cage as of late and even recently, he made it known that Josh Hokit is the kind of fighter that he would love to throw down with if given the opportunity to do so.
In a recent interview, Hill had the following to say about Josh Hokit.
Jamahal Hill wants Josh Hokit showdown
“Top five – I’d love to fight the top five,” Hill told MMA Junkie and other media. “I feel as though even if I continued fighting at light heavyweight, it would be top five. I’d like to see the same thing here. You know, I’m here to bring energy and bring good fights. I believe my style is very exciting, and it translates very well to the big boys. I’m going to get them moving. I’m going to get them moving. I’m coming with that action.
“It’s not going to be a whole lot of sitting back, looking at each other. I’m here to put my hands on people, so that’s what I’m coming for the heavyweight division. I think the heavyweight division needs that, and I want Josh Hokit. I want Josh Hokit first fight. You know, that’s definitely a fight I want more than any other fight. That’s the fight that I want.” Quotes via MMA Junkie
It’s clear for all to see that the heavyweight division is in desperate need of something fresh. Maybe, just maybe, this is the kind of all-action affair that could continue tp re-build some momentum with even more contenders emerging.
