Hasim Rahman’s Undefeated Son Sharif Signs Multi-Fight BKB Deal
Sharif Rahman is taking the family name into bare-knuckle boxing. The unbeaten 30-year-old has signed a multi-fight deal with BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing, with his debut date and opponent still to be announced.
Known as “C3,” Rahman arrives with a 9-0 professional boxing record and four knockouts. The Baltimore native, now based in Las Vegas, is the son of former two-time heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman and brother of pro boxer Hasim Rahman Jr.
Sharif Rahman Signs With BKB
Rahman is entering a format where hands are wrapped but gloves are removed, and fights take place in BKB’s three-sided “Trigon.” The promotion says the 60-degree corners keep fighters near the center rather than allowing long stretches of movement along ropes or a conventional cage.
“I’ve carried this family name my whole career and I’ve never lost,” Rahman said. “Bare knuckle is a new test, no gloves, no excuses, just pure skill and heart, and I’m bringing my undefeated record to BKB to prove I belong among the best in the trigon.”
The surname carries serious heavyweight history. Hasim Rahman Sr. stopped Lennox Lewis in the fifth round on April 22, 2001, in Brakpan, South Africa, to win the WBC and IBF heavyweight titles. A right hand sent Lewis down at 2:32 of the round in one of boxing’s major title upsets.
Sharif’s move gives BKB another second-generation boxer as it continues recruiting names from the gloved game. The company has recently added former WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz, former IBF featherweight champion Lee Selby, Joseph “JoJo” Diaz, Alfredo Angulo and members of the Vargas boxing family to its lineup.
BKB founder Mike Vazquez called Rahman a fighter built on “discipline and skill,” while CEO David Tetreault framed the signing as another move to bring unbeaten and established boxing talent into the promotion. BKB says its roster now includes more than 200 fighters from over 30 countries, though no timetable has been set for Rahman’s first appearance.
