Rizvan Kuniev Hands Jailton Almeida a Quiet Defeat – UFC Vegas 113 Highlights

Three Rounds, Minimal Action: Rizvan Kuniev Hands Jailton Almeida a Quiet Defeat - UFC Vegas 113 Highlights

Rizvan Kuniev defeated Jailton Almeida in a three-round snoozefest to secure a spot in the heavyweight top 10 at UFC Vegas 113.

Almost immediately, Almeida clinched up against the fence and started fishing for a single-leg takedown that he would never get. Kuniev eventually worked his back off the cage, but just as with Almeida, he was only interested in clinching with his opponent and offering little in the way of offense.

This prompted the live crowd to shower them with boos and chants of “break them up,” which referee Dan Miragliotta gladly obliged.

It was more of the same in the second and third rounds, with Kuniev controlling the clinch and Almeida showing little urgency with his back against the fence.

As the final 10-second warning sounded, Kuniev pointed to the mat, challenging Almeida to stand and trade with him for the last few ticks. Almeida agreed, but neither fighter landed anything substantial, sending us to the scorecards after 15 sleep-inducing minutes.

Official Result: Rizvan Kuniev def. Jailton Almeida via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28).
