Thunderous KO! Imanol Rodriguez Keeps His Undefeated Run Alive – UFC Mexico Highlights
Imanol Rodriguez moved to 7-0 with a sensational second-round knockout of Kevin Borjas at UFC Mexico on Saturday.
Borjas nearly finished things early in the first, catching Rodriguez with a vicious counter left that put the highly touted prospect on the mat. Smelling blood in the water, Borjas blitzed Rodriguez, unleashing a flurry of strikes.
But just when it looked like it was over, Rodriguez secured a big takedown, allowing him an opportunity to recover from the onslaught he endured.
Rodriguez racked up more than three minutes of control time in the round, though it likely wasn’t enough to mitigate being knocked down by Borjas.
Despite getting dropped in the first, Rodriguez had no problem engaging in the feet in round two. After slugging it out for more than four minutes, Rodriguez threw an overhand right that appeared to glance off Borjas’ temple. That proved to be enough as Borjas’ legs gave out, prompting Rodriguez to turn up the heat and unleash a flurry that forced the referee to step in and stop the contest.
