BKB 58: Gustavo Trujillo Set To Defend Heavyweight Title Against Mark O’Neil In Miami
BKB 58 has its main event set for August 29, with heavyweight champion Gustavo “The Cuban Assassin” Trujillo defending his title against Mark “The Veteran” O’Neil at the James L. Knight Center in Miami.

Trujillo enters the championship bout unbeaten in BKB competition at 8-0, with all eight victories ending by first-round knockout. The Cuban heavyweight has become one of the promotion’s quickest finishers, and his title defense against O’Neil gives him a chance to extend that run in front of a Miami crowd.
O’Neil, listed as 3-4 in BKB, steps in as an experienced challenger with a major opportunity. The English heavyweight has been billed at 6-foot-5 and brings a different physical look to the matchup than Trujillo’s previous opponents. His record does not tell the whole story in a format where one clean punch can end a night fast, and a win over the unbeaten champion would alter the BKB heavyweight picture immediately.

The title fight is the centerpiece of BKB’s return to Downtown Miami and the finale of its “Summer of BKB” schedule. Trujillo last defended the belt with a 63-second stoppage of former WBA regular heavyweight champion Lucas Browne at BKB 48, adding another early finish to his record. Outside bare-knuckle boxing, Trujillo is also listed as 12-0 with 11 knockouts as a professional boxer and holds a WBO No. 13 ranking.
BKB 58 has several crossover names on the card. Olympic gold medalist and former world boxing champion Yuriorkis Gamboa is set to make his bare-knuckle debut against Yesner “Cuajadita” Talavera. Gamboa’s arrival gives the Miami show another local connection, while placing an accomplished boxer into BKB’s triangular Trigon fighting area for the first time.
Former UFC title contender Aspen Ladd will also make her BKB debut when she meets Bianca “Diamante” Daimoni in a super lightweight contest. Daimoni has previously challenged for BKB welterweight honors, making Ladd’s first appearance a serious matchup rather than a gentle introduction to the sport.
Miami’s Robert Duran Jr., son of Hall of Fame four-division champion Roberto Duran, is scheduled to face Ryan “The Bull From Hull” Spivey. Duran Jr. brings a 3-2 BKB record and a 12-4 professional boxing mark into the bout after stopping Austin Spivey at BKB 53 in April. Ryan Spivey, a former Bad to the Bone English champion, is 4-2 in bare-knuckle competition and won his BKB debut by stopping Sam Clarke in May.
