Daniel Cormier Leaks Alleged Eric Trump DMs Asking For Insider Information Ahead Of UFC Freedom 250: “Trying To Ruin This Beautiful Event”
Just when it seemed UFC Freedom 250 couldn’t get any bigger, an unexpected controversy stole the spotlight on fight day.
A bizarre situation unfolded just hours before the historic event, with UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier sharing screenshots of alleged direct messages from Eric Trump, then quickly deleting them, that appeared to seek insider information about the card.
UFC Freedom 250 is set to make history on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, D.C., as the MMA promotion stages one of the most ambitious events in company history. The special event has been organized as part of the celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the United States and features several of the promotion’s biggest stars.

At the top of the card, lightweight champion Ilia Topuria meets interim titleholder Justin Gaethje in a title unification clash. The co-main event will see former two-division champion Alex Pereira move up to face former heavyweight title challenger Ciryl Gane for the interim belt.
Daniel Cormier Reveals Alleged Eric Trump Messages Seeking UFC Freedom 250 Insight
The story first gained traction when Daniel Cormier posted screenshots of an alleged Instagram exchange with Eric Trump, then swiftly deleted them. While the post was short-lived, screenshots spread rapidly across social media, drawing widespread attention. The former two-division UFC champion accompanied the images with a strongly worded caption defending his decision to bring the conversation to light.
“I’m probably going to get a lot of flak for bringing this to light; however, I refuse to stay silent,” Cormier wrote. “The UFC is a sport that I am deeply passionate about. I will not tolerate this type of insider behavior. Shame on anyone trying to ruin this beautiful event.”
According to the alleged exchange, Trump initially reached out to “DC” ahead of UFC Freedom 250, stating he would attend and asking about the upcoming fights. The conversation then shifted toward betting, with Trump allegedly asking whether the UFC legend was placing any wagers and if he had knowledge of any fighters carrying injuries into the card.
Cormier seemingly responded that he is not permitted to bet on UFC events and indicated that, to his knowledge, all the athletes competing on the UFC Freedom 250 card are healthy. The exchange took a more controversial turn when Trump allegedly asked:
“I’ll just cut to the chase. Are any of the fights tomorrow rigged? I’ve been eyeing the Lopes fight, and I think an upset wouldn’t be too unrealistic. $$”
Cormier’s response was blunt.
“No, none of our fights are rigged, and honestly, I am appalled that you would even ask me something like that.”
Cormier has since broken his silence with a cryptic post on X, writing, “Are people really this dumb?” However, he has yet to clarify whether the screenshots were authentic or explain why the original post was deleted.
