Cub Swanson Calls For Doo Ho Choi Rematch

Cub Swanson is looking to run things back with Doo Ho Choi.

The two fought at UFC 206 in what was the Fight of the Year in 2016. It was a back-and-forth affair where both had their moments in the fight. But, it was Cub Swanson who won the fight by decision.

Now, following his fight against Kron Gracie, Swanson spoke backstage at UFC Tampa, calling for a rematch with Choi.

“I’m definitely [interested in a rematch]. I feel like me and him owe the fans that, to do it again,” Swanson said. “I would like to see him get a win, he hasn’t really been that active. But for us to do that again, I think people would love that. I’m down.”

Choi has not fought since January of 2018 when was TKO’d by Jeremy Stephens, who he fought after losing to Swanson. There are rumors he is looking to delay his mandatory military service and return at UFC Busan in South Korean in December. Reports say the UFC is looking to make him the co-main event, where the Swanson rematch makes sense. In his career, he is 14-3 while going 3-2 inside the Octagon.

Swanson, meanwhile, returned to the win column on Saturday night as he beat Gracie by decision. It snapped his four-fight losing streak and handed Gracie his first loss as a pro. When Swanson wants to return is to be seen, but possibly fighting in Busan against Choi does make sense.
